Accessibility
Saltbarrow Studio aims to meet WCAG 2.2 AA where applicable. The site and the games have not been independently audited.
Commitments
- Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard with a visible focus ring.
- Body text on cream backgrounds targets a high contrast ratio.
- The site honours
prefers-reduced-motion; non-essential animation is disabled. - Form-style controls are not used. There are no fields to fill in.
- The game canvas is keyboard-focusable, has an
aria-label, and exposes status changes via an aria-live region. - Lamplight has a pause control and a restart control. Difficulty ramps gently.
- Sound has an on/off toggle. The game is fully playable without sound.
Known limitations
- Lamplight relies on a rotating visual element. Some photosensitive players may find the sweeping beam uncomfortable. The reduced-motion toggle disables the beam wobble.
- Touch controls on the game use a horizontal drag. Players with limited fine motor control may find this slower than the keyboard.
- Typography relies on system stacks. Players who need a specific typeface should use a browser-level override.
- The studio does not yet have audio descriptions or full captions for in-game events.
How to report a barrier
A public accessibility feedback method is not currently available. This will be reviewed in a future release. In the meantime, the studio will continue to apply WCAG-aligned practices to new work.
Standards reference
The site follows the WCAG 2.2 guidelines where applicable, in particular the principles of Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust.
